KCFR

Welcome To KCFR

Origin

Established in 2003, the Karachi Council on Foreign Relations (KCFR) is a think tank dedicated to enhancing Pakistan’s global image by addressing gaps in foreign relations, fostering investment, and promoting cultural and economic diplomacy. Established under the leadership of the late Justice Saeeduz-Zaman Siddiqui, former Chief Justice of Pakistan and Governor of Sindh, KCFR’s founding members included notable figures such as Admiral (R) Shahid Karimullah, Lieutenant General (R) Moinuddin Haider, Advocate Liaquat Merchant, Vice Admiral Khalid Mir, and senior defense analyst Ikram Sehgal. Their combined vision has shaped KCFR as a hub of inclusivity and expertise.

Currently chaired by Nadira Panjwani, a leading philanthropist and educationist, KCFR continues to flourish under her leadership. Known for her work in healthcare, education and women empowerment, she brings a dynamic vision to the council’s agenda. Ikram Sehgal, serving as Patron-in-Chief, has elevated KCFR’s profile through his strategic insight and global perspective.
